Aquatics Introduction
The York JCC’s aquatics program offers the following amenities:• 6 lane Olympic size pool (kept at 84-86°F), 25 yards, 4-8 feet deep
• 10 person whirlpool (kept at 104°F) located on the pool deck
• Wet sauna
• Dry sauna
We provide ample opportunities for lap swimming, water fitness, group swim lessons, private swim lessons, and free swim.
Group Swim Lessons are taught in accordance with the American Red Cross. Parent and child classes are available for children 6 months – 4 years of age. Level’s 1-6 are available for children 4 years and older. We also offer specific stroke and turn clinics for competitive swimmers. Private Swim Lessons are available for children ages 3 and older. Participants select the day and time suitable to his or her schedule for half-hour one-on-one instruction with a certified Water Safety Instructor. Private lessons are also available in partner sessions for a maximum of 2 participants at the same swim level. We also offer lifeguarding, CPR, first aid, AED, water safety instructor, and baby-sitting classes at various time throughout the year. Please refer to the Program Guide for the most up-to-date schedule.

Patty Neidigh Aquatics Director pneidigh@yorkjcc.org Patty Neidigh is a graduate of York Suburban High School, where she was an All-American swimmer. She received a BS degree in health sciences and minors in business administration and psychology from Gannon University. Patty is currently a swim coach for York Suburban and an instructor trainer for lifeguard, water safety, CPR, first aid, AED, and babysitting for the American Red cross and the Arthritis Foundation She is also part of the York County American Red Cross instructor advisory committee and a certified pool operator and aquatic facility operator. She has certifications in swimming pool management and pesticide for swimming pools. Patty has worked at the JCC since August of 1996. From 1996-1998 she was the Youth Director and she has been the Aquatics Director for the past 10 years. |
